Some new sketches

Working on some anatomy and facial expressions. I'm going to need to work on the proportions a bit more and some of the angles aren't quite right but I like where this work is heading.

Sketches and Studies

Some sketches that I've made, they are a combination of traces, pose studies, and adaptions from Pirate Cashoo (http://pirate-cashoo.deviantart.com/)
Pose and face sketches I made using this photo as a reference

Outfits

Some outfit and hair choices for Homeward.
The first outfit was an idea for a city guard, the second was a messenger, the third was a ship captain, and the last was intended to be an apothecary but turned into a bit of a generic mage.

Poses! (slightly NSFW)

Pose sketches I've done, focusing on two or more subjects sitting together. I wanted to focus on proportion, depth, angle, anatomy and placement. My goal here wasn't perfection, but to get to where I could get comfortable drawing people in a seated position.

River Forest Fire

Some color studies I'm doing for an environment.

Trying to find the right focal point and color balance to convey the depth and mysticism from this world. I wanted to create a place where conflicting realities overlap with each other and end up creating impossible places. This one was a river forest merging with a volcano, I'm melding the sap from the trees with volcanic fire and making black trees coming from the water to look like hardened volcanic rock.

For Alice

For Little Alice, a merry merry birthday to you. With many more unbirthdays to follow.

Shell study!

quick 45 minute (with a generous nap somewhere in the middle) sketch. Still life as suggested by my good friend terry.

Mad sketches

Headphone girl! Man, I do love super clothed females. Practiced with different kinds of patterns. did you ever notice the parallel between the checkerboard pattern on the hatters clothes and the chess themes that were in Alice in Wonderland? Wanted a mix of travelers trench coat, semi modern headphones, cybernetics, and mad hatter style.  Fairly happy with the way this turned out, though I need to fix quite a bit.

Merchants!

This is for a project I'm currently working on (don't want to get to far ahead of myself with the details) but I wanted to create a series of merchants with different looks and personalities. Each sharing a few common traits.
1. They'd all be wearing masks
2. They would all be fully clothed (no sultry spice merchants!)
3. they'd be slightly odd, since strangeness breeds interest.
I'm really happy with the depth I was able to convey with a few of these. I'm enjoying greyscale more and more (though I haven't quite figured out how to properly overlay color).

zbrush work

some 3D sculpting I'm learning through some Digital Tutors tutorial.

The first thing anyone should learn how to do is make a head crab. obviously.
next thing is how to make a biker dude with a Mohawk and a righteous beard.

Home Weapon Amos

the world I'm building basically has spirits that inhabit a weapon (ripped off of samurai legend) where the more ornate and intricate a weapons design the more powerful spirit it will attract
Here's an elaboration on the sword carried by the woman in the previous picture.

The Troll and the Traveler

Yesgra sat in his cave, with his black kettle chanting the words in his slurred tongue. "Magic Kettle from the night, seared to black from goblins spite, hear my hunger rolling deep, give me something good to eat." and even though there had been nothing in the kettle and no fire under the pot, it began to bubble at the lid filling the cave with the aroma of succulent lamb, sweet potatoes and sizzling fat.
and the traveler did feel his hunger grow, so much so that he decided to risk the ire of the troll and see if he could not trick it into giving him this wondrous kettle.

Con Tower Color

filling in with some basic color and lighting, probably going to change Reiz's pose a bit and have him crouch behind one of the support beams. But I'm pretty happy with the color choices for this pic.
